The eyebrows play an important role in facial aesthetics and facial expressions. Low or sunken eyebrows may cause excess skin on the upper eyelids. This makes the eyes smaller and gives the impression that you are tired or depressed. This may occur due to the natural ageing process, but may also be genetic. An eyebrow lift can restore a youthful, fresh look. This procedure can also correct eyebrow asymmetry (uneven brows).

Eyebrow lift methods

There are different methods for lifting the eyebrows. The method used will depend on the initial consultation assessment and your individual wishes:

  • Classic lift
  • Eyebrow lift combined with forehead lift

Classic lift (direct brow lift)

If you have sunken eyebrows, a direct incision can be made above the brows. A little skin will be removed. The skin is then closed by subsequent suturing, thus lifting the eyebrow. The resulting scars are hidden in the brows.

Eyebrow lift in the temple area (indirect brow lift)

If the brows are sunken and the hairline is low, an eyebrow lift via an incision in the temple area is a good choice. This is also particularly recommended if you have deep wrinkles on the forehead. The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anaesthesia.

Before your surgery, we will book you in for an initial consultation to discuss your expectations and explain the risks.
